What:
This Course is designed to provide the participant with a principle-based introduction to spinal surgery and instrumentation. The Course will focus on the spine trauma patient in a conceptual, case study and practical exercise format. All participants are encouraged to bring personal cases for discussion to maximize their experience at the course.
At the conclusion of this Course, the participant should be able to:
• demonstrate the basic knowledge of the principles of bone and soft tissue healing;
• comprehend the principles of injury mechanisms and fracture classification;
• identify the anatomic and biomechanical issues in spinal fixation; and
• apply psychomotor skills developed during practical exercises into surgical practice.
